PROTEST AGAINST CUTTING OFF 250 TREES IN BANERGHATTA FOR METRO RAIL
Bengaluru. CRISP foundation with the support of Bangalore citizens held a protest to create awareness of chopping of about 250 trees near dairy circle at Bannerghatta road.
More than 50 people protested with placcards and shouted slogans against cutting of the trees which are already numbered to pave way of metro rail and the work may start soon.
They did n’t want the garden city to lose its status and trees are very important part for breathing of oxygen and lifeline especially for the patients of nearby hospitals like kidwai cancer hospital,Nimhans, TB hospital, Jayadeva hospital etc and also for the tech hub were thousands of people travel daily and work.
They also submitted a memorandum to concerned authorities and forest department to stop this anti people decision and demanded underground metro rail.
The event was led by Kumar Jahgirdar, president of CRISP foundation and was supported by social activists Sumanth Naryan, Arun Prasad, Samson Peter and others.
