PUBLIC AWARNESS CAMPAIGN TO EXCEMPT GST ON KHADI AND HANDLOOM PRODUCTS ON THE EVE OF GANDHI JAYANTHI
Bengaluru. Sumangali seva asharama and crisp ngo organised a public awareness campaign to withdraw the levy of gst tax recently imposed on khadi and handloom products , the event took place today at Gandhi Bhavana near Kumara Krupa on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi .
Citizens and children also signed a memorandum appealing to honourable prime minister Sri Narendera Modi to take immediate steps to withdraw the GST immedietly as a mark of respect and tribute to the Mahatama our father of the nation, after all khadi is of a sentimental value attached to the Indian freedom struggle , at present 5% to 15% tax is imposed on most of the khadi and handloom products after gst was enforced and this tax is effecting the livelihood of farmers and weavers across the country and needs immediate action.

The event was led by Kumar Jahgirdar, Social Activist Anuradha of Sumangali Sevaasharama, more than 50 children and 50 elders including women participated in the campaign.
