Redington to distribute Epicor ERP industry-specific solutions to boost the growth of the Indian manufacturing industry

Bengaluru. Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry specific software to promote business growth, announced today the appointment of a country-wide distributor to accelerate business growth and meet demand for enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions across India. The partnership will see Redington India, one of the country’s largest technology distributors, selecting and training specialist resellers from its network of over 20,000 business partners to grow the Epicor customer base.

2. Tell us more about you Bangalore facility.
Epicor Software corporation is headquartered in Austin, Texas. In realisation of the technical strengths and the pool of talent available, Epicor set up an off-shore development facility in Bangalore in the year 2015. The facility has been steadily growing handling Research & Development of several products of Epicor, Product Management, Product support and Professional Services to Epicor’s global customers. This facility employs around 400 human resources right now. The facility has been delivering high quality service and hastened Epicor’s process of delivering products faster to our customers.
3. Who are your current clients in India? What marketing strategy do you have in place to add more to your clientele list?
Epicor is just launching its direct presence in the Indian market. However, there are about 30 customers who use Epicor’s ERP and iScala products in India. Majority of them are our International customers rolling out to India to cover their operation here; and the balance are customers brought in by our channel partners, previously managed by our organisation in the Middle East.
Our marketing strategy involves running multiple road shows targeting our prospective clients in the industries listed above. We are well positioned to be an alternate to major global ERP vendors – who are perceived inflexible by customers; and to smaller vendors in terms of long term viability. We offer best of both the worlds to mid-market companies. CII estimates there are 36.1 million small and medium enterprises in the country. Only a fraction of these have implemented integrated business solutions such as offered by Epicor.
4. Which are the geographies you are targeting initially and how is your partnership with Redington going to help distribute your products and services?
Epicor: We are targeting North, West and South initially through Redington’s regional sales officers and value added reseller partners in the respective regions. The focus would be to cover the tier-2 cities where the majority of potential exists. Epicor and Redington are holding partner launch events in 3 cities this week, wherein we expect over 100 business partners of Redington to participate and understand the opportunity for Epicor ERP software in India. A shortlisted set of these partners will be engaged for the market development and distribution of Epicor solutions. These partners would be supported by Redington in all aspect of marketing and sales; and supported by Epicor on training them on the ERP presales. A set of service partners would also be identified who would be trained by Epicor on product implementation and support.

Our products have industry specific functionality for the industries listed above; hence customers find our solution easy to implement. For our target markets, we provide comprehensive functionality meeting all their business requirements. 7. There is a significant growth in the cloud based ERP solutions. In Indian scenario, what is ratio of adaptation of SaaS and Cloud based solutions, considering that there is reluctance from the Indian companies to transform into a cloud based system?
Epicor provides the choice to the customers with on-premise or on the cloud. We offer the same ERP software for both, unlike some of our competitors who offer a different product on cloud and on-premise. Gartner has predicted an over 30% growth in adoption of SaaS in India. As we are just launching, we will provide all options to our customers and partners to choose the most appropriate one for them.
8. What is your sales guidance or expected market share to achieve in the first year?
We are a privately held company and hence do not provide such data. However, we expect to be among the top 5 ERP providers in the country, replicating our successes in Americas and International
9. What kind of business environment do you foresee for your products and services in India, as many players jolting the sector?
We see a conductive environment with government streamlining all policies for setting up of businesses, introduction of GST, launching major initiatives such as Make In India, Digital India, etc. and creating awareness and providing incentives for organisations to use information technology to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality of service all around. Our business software directly supports all these trends in the country.
10. How does ERP solutions help companies?
Implementing an ERP helps companies to streamline their operations, improve process effectiveness, visibility across their operations, avoid delays, wastages, deliver faster to customers, improve employee morale, etc. Organisations have benefited by implementing ERP irrespective of other market forces impacting them.

As commented previously, initiatives such as Digital India helps the country and its citizens to adopt digital technologies in business and business to consumer interactions, brings in revolutions of paper less and secure transactions; a whole new work force who are millennials who use technologies with use.
