BMTC’S NEW BUS DEPOT AT MANDUR WAS INAGURATED BY SRI.H.M.REVANNA, HON’BLE MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT, GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA ON 01-03-2018 AT MANDUR DEPOT PREMISES
Bengaluru. Sri Aravinda Limbavali, Hon’ble MLA, Mahadevapur Constituency, presided over function. Sri K.J.George, Hon’ble Minister for Bengaluru Development & Town Planning & Bengaluru Urban District In-charge minister, Sri P.C.Mohan, Hon’ble MP, Bengaluru Central, Sri K.Govindaraju, Hon’ble MLC and Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sri M.Narayanswamy, Hon’ble MLC, Sri Byrathi Suresh, Hon’ble MLC, Sri Rizwan Arshad, Hon’ble MLC, Sri. M.Nagaraja Yadav, Hon’ble Chairman BMTC, Sri B.Govindaraju, Hon’ble Vice Chairman, BMTC and President, Vice President and all the members of Bengaluru Urban District Panchayath, Bengaluru Urban East Taluk Panchayath, Mandur Village Panchayath were Chief guests in the function. Dr.B.Basavaraju, Principal Secretary, Transport, Sri.V.Ponnuraj, Managing Director, BMTC and other respected invitees were also present on the occasion.
New Bus Depot at Madur:
The Bus Depot is constructed on an area spreading over 3 acres and 39 guntas at a cost of Rs.349 lakhs.
Basic Amenities in the Depot:
Ground Floor: Depot Manager Office, Cash & ticket section, Female employees rest room(with Toilets).
6 Vehicle repair platforms, 2 Inspection bunk
Stores and Workshop employees office.

From this Depot 84 schedules with 955 trips will be operated to Mandur and surrounding places of Avalhalli, Anagondanahalli, Bhattara Marenahalli , Bidalapura, Chikka Thirupathi, Cheemasandra, Devanagundhi, Devshettihalli, Doddabanahlli, Hndharahalli, Handenahalli, Huskuru, Jyothipura, Kaggalahalli, Kannamangala, Kattugollahlli, Makanhalli, Marasandra Pura, Rampura, Sampangere, Thirumenahalli, Chowdeshwari JP Park, Arehalli, KorLUru, Manduru, Pattanduru Agrahara, Pichaguntara halli, Tharabahalli, Hebbal, Kattigenahalli, and Devanahalli.
Achievements of BMTC
Induction of 1541 new buses to BMTC fleet.
156 Metro feeder buses in operation since the commencement of Metro services.
Chief Minister Launching of Intelligent Transport System(ITS) with GPS, VTU, ETM, CCTV on 25-5-2016 and BMTC Smart Card on 17-6-2017 for the benefit of the commuters.
In the past 4 years construction of 10 new Depots and 5 Bus Stations have been completed and Shivanapura, Anjanapura, M.S.Palya and Sadenahalli Depots have started functioning.
Free Bus passes are issued for SC/ST students for 2017-18 and Smart Card bus passes have been issued to 4 lakh students.
CC Cameras have been installed 500 for the safety of women passengers.
The Government has exempted BMTC from paying Motor Vehicle Tax for 2017-18.
In order to provide medical services to commuters and BMTC Staff while on travel Indira Transit Clinics have been opened at Kempegowda Bus Station and Yeshwanthpur Bus Stand.
During 2013 to 2017, 3816 Drivers, 1732 Conductors, 1089 Mechanical staff, 144 other staff, a total of 6781 employees have been recruited and recruitment process for 500 Drivers, 534 Conductors, 980 Mechanical Staff and 211 other staff has been started.
Since 1997 BMTC has bagged a total of 108 National and International Awards. Among these 57 Awards were bagged during the last 5 years.
Depots at Bidadi, Devanahalli, Nagadasanahalli and Kavaluhosahalli will start operation in the present financial year.
Construction of New Bus Terminals at Hosakote, BTM Layout, Singapura and Mallasandra .
Operation of new Divisional Workshop at Challaghatta and Dasanapura.
Construction of new Bus Depot at a cost of 3.5 crore, 5 Bus Shelters at a cost of 7.75 crores and 3 Employees Quarters at a cost of 16 crore.
Construction of Rest Rooms, waiting lounges with CC Cameras at all Bus Depots and major Bus Stations under Nirbhaya Fund scheme.
