11 PEOPLE DIED IN A STAMPEDE DURING RCB VICTORY AT CHINNASWAMY STADIUM IN BENGALURU

At least eight are feared dead and over 40 were injured.

Bengaluru : At least 11 are feared dead and over 40 were injured after a stampede broke out outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Royal Challengers Bengaluru had planned their IPL 2025 victory celebrations but things got out of control shortly before the event was due to begin inside the stadium.Around 5pm, multiple reports of injuries and deaths emerged from outside the stadium but the programme continued as planned. It is understood that Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council Chairman Arun Dhumal had to call up the franchise, who were unaware of the events which unfolded outside the venue. Dhumal was assured that the event will be wrapped up quickly inside the stadium but the damage was already done outside it RCB celebration tragedy: Siddaramaiah announces ₹10 lakh compensation for families of those killed.

Bengaluru: 11 people died in a tragedy during Royal Challengers Bangalore team’s celebration, and CM Siddaramaiah has announced Rs 10 lakh compensation each for their families. He also said that the government will bear the treatment expenses of the injured and the District Collector has also ordered an investigation.
The Cricket Association had organized a program to celebrate the victory. The program was also organized by the government. At the same time, a big tragedy occurred while the victory celebration was being held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium,” he said.
