Will the rise of Eurasian power weaken Western dominance?
Russia and China are pushing for the revival of the ‘RIC’ (Russia-India-China) trilateral alliance to counter Western dominance. However, India has not agreed to this proposal due to the border conflict with China and its Quad commitment. India has taken a cautious stance, clarifying that no meeting has been scheduled for now. Speaking on this, Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that no clear decision has been taken on resuming RIC talks.

New Delhi: Amidst talk of China and Russia pushing for the revival of the Russia-India-China (RIC) trilateral alliance, sources have confirmed that India has not agreed to any meeting in this format.
“No meeting in the RIC format has been agreed to at this time. There are no discussions on its timing,” it was clarified.
“There is no commitment on the revival of the Russia-India-China (RIC) mechanism,” spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at the weekly media briefing of the Ministry of External Affairs. “It is a mechanism where the three countries come together to discuss global and regional issues. If this meeting takes place, we will work out a mutually convenient date and let you know,” Jaiswal said.
The trilateral dialogue between Russia-India-China (RIC) was aimed at creating a trilateral Eurasian power that could balance Western hegemony. The remarks from India’s Ministry of External Affairs come months after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the Troika should resume work.
