Provides protective equipment to district administrations, municipal corporations and police forces ·         The list includes 66,000 surgical masks, 2,300 litres of sanitisers and 52,500 gloves   Bengaluru: ICICI Bank stands in solidarity with the Government of Karnataka by providing protective equipment to the state government, hospitals and police forces for their tireless efforts to safeguard citizens of the state in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.   ICICI Bank is working actively with the authorities on this front. The Bank has donated protective equipment like 66,000 of three-ply surgical masks, 2,300 litres sanitisers, 52,500 gloves and 15,000 kg of bleaching powder to the Deputy Commissioners of Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, Bengaluru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, Chitradurga and Udupi among others. This initiative is part of the Bank’s nation-wide drive of contributing various protective gears to aid the front-liners to combat the pandemic.   Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Saurabh Singh, Head- Government Banking, ICICI Bank said, “ICICI Group has a legacy of supporting the development of the nation as well as providing support in times of natural calamities and disasters. Taking this legacy forward, we are standing in solidarity with various state governments, police departments and health professionals in their tireless efforts to treat and safeguard citizens of the country in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. Our support to the various authorities in Karnataka is part of these activities.   The doctors treating the COVID-19 suspects / patients and the police and paramilitary forces managing orderly implementation of the lockdown are at the frontline of this combat. We have focussed our efforts to reach out to the government hospitals and the forces in the state. Despite supply chain challenges, we are providing them supplies in the form of sanitisers, surgical masks, N95 masks, gloves, personal protection equipment, etc. We are also providing equipment like thermal scanners and non-invasive category ventilators.“

Rapido Launches Rapido Box, an On-Demand Person-To-Person Delivery Service for Food, Groceries and Medicines   ·       Rapido Box available in three cities – Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad ·       Country’s largest fleet of 2-Wheeler Captains available for the on-demand delivery service ·       Rapido app will be the platform of exchange for users to send or call for essentials   Bangalore, India, May 4, 2020: Rapido, India’s Largest Bike Taxi App, has announced the launch of Rapido Box, a new on-demand delivery service where customers can request pick and drop of food, groceries and medicine on the App, from or to another customer. The person to person (P2P) on-demand delivery service will enable users to exchange food, groceries or medicines with their family and friends who are not able to step out of their homes for essentials or have run out of certain essential items, in times of need.     The company will leverage its already existing fleet of Captains to ensure quick and prompt deliveries across three cities – Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The newly launched service will also aim to boost the utilisation & revenue of the Captains on road, amid lockdown.   Announcing the new service, Aravind Sanka, Co-Founder, Rapido, said, “The COVID 19 lockdown has brought mobility to a standstill with restraints in everyday commuting for Indians all across. In order to avail this service, customers are required to update their Android app.   Rapido has accelerated its existing Rapido-Delivery services to provide for the delivery of essential goods during the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown. The company has been operating delivery services for B2B clients namely Zomato, Swiggy, Delhivery.com, Myntra, Eat.Fit to name a few for close to 2 years now. Rapido has partnered with major online companies like Big Bazaar, Big Basket and Spencer’s for delivery of essential goods and is additionally supporting the Delhi Government in delivering essential items like milk and food packets, under the DCPC Node, in underprivileged areas across the city. The company has also partnered with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) COVID-19 Home Delivery Helpline as a delivery service partner in a move to resolve supply-chain challenges amidst lockdown.
