Fight BJP from booth level together: DCM D.K. Shivakumar calls on Youth Congress office bearers
Put aside personal differences and organize the party by adhering to the ideology of the Congress party
Bengaluru: “The Youth Congress elections are over. Those who won and those who lost the elections should unite and fight against the ideological political opponents, BJP and JDS, at all booth levels,” DCM D.K. Shivakumar called on.
At the “Yuva Sankalpa” swearing-in ceremony held at the Palace Grounds on Monday, DCM D.K. Shivakumar, who is also the KPCC president, administered the oath to the new office bearers elected through the Youth Congress elections. Later, D.K. Shivakumar and former Youth Congress president Mohammed Harris Nalapad handed over the Congress flag to the new president Manjunath Gowda.
Speaking on the occasion, Shivakumar said, “A report has come that 25 lakh Youth Congress members have been added in Karnataka. 15-20 thousand members have come here. I would like to ask where the remaining members have gone. With a membership of 25 lakh, the taluk-level president should hold a similar swearing-in ceremony in his assembly constituency. The Youth Congress members of that taluk should be invited to that ceremony. I congratulate those who have become members of the Congress party. We will not vote for those who have become members and then release them. Those who have become members should be in the Congress party’s account. Then we will know who are the real members.”
“We celebrated the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi taking office as the Congress President. Congress power is the power of the country, Congress history is the history of the country, when Congress comes to power, it is like the birthright of all classes. Today, you are all taluk, district and state level office bearers. I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings to all of you on behalf of Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Siddaramaiah. Election victory and defeat are natural in politics. Not all those who contest elections can win. Not all those who win elections are leaders. Those who honestly organize the party with discipline, develop Congress ideology, maintain the integrity and unity of the country and protect the Constitution, the national flag and the national anthem are real leaders. They are the real Congressmen,” he said.
“When I was a student leader, I won the PUC elections. When I was a graduate, I lost the elections. Then my victory began. Then I lost the first assembly elections. After that, I have been winning continuously. When I became a minister in Bangarappa’s cabinet, I was the district president of the Youth Congress. After that, I handed over power to Narayanaswamy. I and Vinay Kumar Sorake together formed the NSUI and Youth Congress organizations and have come this far step by step,” he said.
Discipline should be your basic mantra
“Without discipline, no one can become a leader. Discipline is the basic mantra of your success. You will not become a leader just by putting up posters and banners. Your war should be based on ideology. It should be against BJP and Janata Dal at the booth level and not by putting up posters. Your poster should be at your booth level. You should follow etiquette while putting up posters. Don’t forget that people will vote for you on the sign of your hand. Just as cooking tastes good, similarly, when we suffer in life, it teaches us wisdom. You should make good use of the power you have,” he whispered.
“Your vision should be with the ideology of the Congress party. Criticisms die, works remain. Even if criticism comes against you, do not be discouraged and do work that will last forever. Don’t reassure in happiness, answer in anger, and make decisions in sadness. We are all wearing the country’s tricolor flag as the party flag. Can BJP and Janata Dal members wear this shawl? Only Congress workers get this opportunity,” he said.
The one who organizes at the booth level is a real leader
“There may be a setback for the Congress party at the national level. The sun rises and sets. Nothing is permanent in politics. When I took office as the party president, I gave a promise. I had said that I would provide programs for women and youth. Accordingly, we have provided Yuva Nidhi and Grihalakshmi, Grihaljyoti, Shakti, Anabhagya Guarantee schemes. If the BJP does politics on emotions, the Congress party is doing politics on life. I keep saying that there should be digital youth at every booth level. I want to tell the new president Manjunath Gowda this too. There is no compromise in this. A team of 25 workers should be formed at every booth. That booth should be given responsibility. Those who give the most votes at the booth level are the real leaders. Leaving this aside, if you circle around me and Siddaramaiah, you will not become a leader. If you think that I consider you a leader if you put your photo and put a cutout in front of my house, then that is your illusion,” he said.
“The only real leader is the one who fights against the BJP at the booth level and brings the Congress party to power. Only those who have won the elections here are our leaders. The workers who worked on your behalf and made you win are our real leaders. We will take them all together.
MLA Rizwan Harshad*
The future leaders of the country are there, the Youth Congress. Those who will lead the country are here. Manjunath, despite having no background, won the election and became the Youth Congress leader. All the senior leaders are with him.
In his speech, he presented excellent ideas about the integrity of the country. The future of Karnataka lies in his speech. Ours is a land of democracy and harmony. This country is being divided by the BJP and RSS. The youth of the country should do the work of stopping this.
Whoever is ruling the country does not believe in democracy. They are running with dictatorship. Some media are working on their behalf. They are being portrayed as great leaders. We must fight against this dictatorship. We are enjoying freedom today because the senior leaders of the Congress party fought against the British. The BJP has insulted the fighters by saying that we got freedom in 2014.
National Youth Congress President Uday Banu Chib
The highest number of Youth Congress memberships in the country have been made in Karnataka. The membership work has been done under the good leadership of Manjunath. Youth Congress leaders should go to the booth level and work. Their problems should be listened to.
Modi has pledged the country’s self-respect to America. The citizens of the country are being sent from America by putting chains on them. The people of the country are not raising their voices about this. But the Youth Congress has raised its voice about this.
In Karnataka, D.K. Shivakumar is leading the party very well. He has resolved to build 100 party offices. Youth Congress members should work among the people.
