Kusum-C project to be launched tomorrow
Bengaluru : supplies adequate electricity to farmers’ agricultural pump sets in milk crops, will not stand still through this project: Thousand megawatts of energy.
Giving information at a press conference on Monday, he said, ‘A 20 MW capacity solar unit has been set up in about 60 acres of land in Hanumenahalli and Charaka Mallenahalli of Tondebavi Guliya in Gauribidanur taluk. Here. This is the largest unit set up under the Kusum-C’ scheme, which leases private land for 25 years,” he said.
Solar power units will be installed near the feeders to generate electricity, ‘power will be supplied to irrigation, from there to agriculture through feeders ,Adequate power supply to agricultural pump sets ,Legalization of illegal agricultural pump sets ,Maximum price of Rs 3.17 per unit of electricity. Scheduled 1.50 lakh pump sets to be regularised within a year
“We have implemented a new, fast-track scheme to regularise illegal agricultural pump sets. If farmers provide infrastructure including lines at their own cost for illegal agricultural pump sets installed after September 22, 2013, the pump sets are being regularised by providing transformers for two or more pump sets by Eskom,” said Minister K.J. George. “There will be 4.50 lakh illegal agricultural pump sets by 2023. In this context, the government has decided to regularise illegal sump sets that were connected before September 22, 2013 and has so far regularised lakh pump sets. “We will commission the remaining 1.50 lakh pump sets within a year,” he assured.
Power will be supplied to the pump sets. By producing and supplying it locally, quality power will be available and the burden on transformers will be reduced,” he said. 3.17.
2,400 MW target ‘Kusum-C’ in first phase of agriculture
“One MW solar power generation costs Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 4 crore. Out of this, Rs 1 crore will come as subsidy from the central government. Based on all these factors, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission has fixed a maximum of Rs 3.17 per unit of electricity,” the minister informed.
There is a target of 2,400 MW solar power generation, and work is in progress to supply quality electricity to about 6.19 lakh agricultural pump sets during the day. Already, about 200 MW capacity solar units have been constructed, and in a few months, 545 MW capacity has been installed at 9 places.
We will achieve the target of installing 20250 909 2,400 2. They will install the units and generate electricity. The government will purchase it and supply it to the agricultural pump sets within the respective feeders. Since solar power is available in sufficient quantity during the day, adequate electricity will be available to the agricultural pump sets,” he explained.
